The Reds players have outlined a rightfully strong stance on the disgraceful abuse suffered by the Napoli defender

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has posted a defiant message in support of Kalidou Koulibaly after the Napoli defender was subjected to disgraceful racist abuse.

Inter Milan supporters targeted the Sengalese centre-back during their side's clash in the San Siro on Wednesday.

The Reds winger posted a picture of himself and Koulibaly from when Napoli and Liverpool faced off in the Champions League.

He wrote above it to say there was "no place for racism anywhere at all".

The Egyptian King said : "There’s no place for racism in football. There’s no place for racism anywhere at all."

His comments follow in the same vein as team-mate Sadio Mane who is a fellow compatriot of Koulibaly and earlier posted a picture of fellow his international with the words 'say no to racism' underneath it.

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed that his team had asked three times for the match to be suspended before Inter's Lautaro Martinez grabbed a last-minute winner.

Koulibaly was sent off 10 minutes from time after collecting two yellow cards in quick succession – the second for sarcastically applauding the referee.

Mane took to Instagram to post a picture of Koulibaly with the words 'say no to racism' underneath it.

After the match Koulibaly posted on Twitter: "I'm sorry about the defeat and especially to have let my brothers down.

“But I'm proud of the colour of my skin. To be French, Senegalese, Neapolitan, and a man.”

The mayor of Milan, Guiseppe Sala, apologised to Koulibaly, calling it a “shameful act against a respected athlete”.
