Mo Salah has secured his place in the history books with his 187th goal against Bournemouth at Anfield.

The Egyptian maestro, Salah secured the record with a thunderous strike against Bournemouth, overtaking none other than club legend Steven Gerrard himself.

With this monumental feat, Salah now stands fifth in Liverpool's all-time scoring charts, with a staggering 187 goals to his name.

The impressive No. 11 has notched up another accolade in his remarkable career at Anfield.

Liverpool's Egyptian star sealed the deal at Anfield in their second game of the Premier League season against Bournemouth.

Salah has now overtaken the former Liverpool captain and newly-appointed Al-Ettifaq manager, Steven Gerrard as the fifth top scorer in the clubs history.

The forward has accumulated a number of records to his name since joining in 2017,  putting him behind fourth-placed Billy Liddell with 228 goals.

The game against Bournemouth saw surprise new signing Wataru Endo of Japan make his debut at Anfield.

The Reds dominated against the Cherries last season, with a 9-0 thrashing of the seaside club.

Steven Gerrard made an impressive 709 appearances for his boyhood club, ending his career with the third most amount, and as fifth all time top goalscorer with 185 over his 17 year career.

The No.11 will be keen to score more goals this season after the 2022-23 campaign saw a struggling Liverpool finish in 5th.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland took home the Golden Boot with ease last season, though Salah is no stranger to such accolades.

Salah took home the Premier League Golden Boot three times, in 2017–18, 2018–19, and 2021–22 - though the presence of goal-machine Haaland will make this increasingly harder.

It is quite a feat to surpass Gerrard, who iconically embodied Liverpool for many years, though Salah's stardom continues to rise.

He's achieved a feat not seen since the days of Roger Hunt back in 1965/66, becoming the first Liverpool player to consistently net 20 league goals for three consecutive seasons.

Since his arrival at Liverpool in 2017, he's cultivated a tapestry of records that would leave any footballer in awe. And now, having vanquished the marker set by the club's former captain, Salah's journey of conquest presses onward.
