Sam Kerr is engaged to her longterm girlfriend Kristie Mewis.
Mewis, 30, exclusively revealed the news to People magazine on Friday, calling Kerr her 'biggest supporter' in an interview.
'[She's] my biggest supporter, always listening to me nag and complain all, all of my crazy antics,' she said.
Rumours have been rife that Kerr proposed after her US football star girlfriend celebrated her 30th birthday in September.
Kerr and Mewis are the undisputed power couple of women's football and the pair amassing thousands of followers since their relationship has blossomed.
Fans believed the pair got engaged in September after Mewis' left ring finger was obscured by a napkin one of their photos.
Mewis headed back to the States to link up with her club side, Gotham FC, while Kerr went to London to begin pre-season training with Chelsea.
Mewis featured in a promo clip for the new EA FC 24 video game, with a piece of jewellery on her ring finger, which ignited another round of speculation for fans.
'Not the ROCK,' one fan posted online.
Another added: 'Omg is Kristie wearing an engagement ring?'
'WHATS THAT ON YOUR HAND KRISTIE??' a third said.
The couple met while they were both playing for competing clubs in the US league in 2019.
They spoke online for almost four months during the 2020 Covid lockdowns before spending two weeks in quarantine together, where they quickly fell in love.
The couple continued their romance in the lead-up to the Olympics in 2021 where - following America's defeat of Australia - they were photographed together.
Their on-pitch embrace made headlines as Kerr's break-up from her former longtime partner, another US club player Nikki Stanton, had not yet become public.
Their cross-global romance has since been heavily documented on social media with both women amassing hundreds of thousands of followers.
'We're not private people. I like sharing my story. I like sharing who I am outside of football. Football is 5 per cent of my life,' Kerr told Gaffer earlier this year.
