Sampdoria patron Massimo Ferrero has been banned from presidential activities for four months due to payment irregularities.
The punishment relates to payments covering the renovation of their training complex in Bogliasco, the FIGC explained in a statement.
Ferrero’s wife Vanessa has been hit with the same suspension and also incurred a fine of €15,000.
The film producer has long been seeking buyers for Samp, and it was thought that a consortium headed by former striker Gianluca Vialli would buy the club, but talks fell apart over valuation.
He has owned the Ligurian side since June 2014, taking over from the Garrone family.
