Atletico Madrid host Real Madrid on Saturday and Saul Niguez has expressed his eagerness to participate in yet another local derby.

The Rojiblancos midfielder portrayed the atmosphere and anticipation before and throughout such a game for both the fans and the players.

"It's a game you spend your whole life dreaming of playing," he said in an interview for LaLiga.

"The atmosphere from the outside is totally different from the rest.

"You meet people on the street a week before who talk to you about it so you don't forget.

"When you enter the pitch and you face the opponent, it is something that you have been awaiting for a long time and that you really have to enjoy."

Los Blancos have had an unconvincing start to the season, but Saul insisted that Atletico shouldn't underestimate their rivals.

"Every game against Real Madrid is an opportunity to do things well and we go into it with great enthusiasm," he added.

"The truth is that the expectations are very positive.

"It is a very difficult, very complicated game, as we know that they aren't in their best moment but they are always dangerous and whenever they play against us they are again the competitive team they were, because they also know that playing against us is different."

Diego Simeone's side had various new players arriving last summer and the 24-year-old had some good words to say for each of them.

"[Hector] Herrera seems spectacular to me and people are surprised that he doesn't get minutes, but you win the minutes and he always has to be available," he noted.

"Then [Renan] Lodi and [Kieran] Trippier have a great sprint and make very good runs. They are lethal because they have very good crossing.

"They know how to play inside, they are very complete

"Felipe [Monteiro] and Mario Hermoso are centre-backs with great experience and at a great level.

"The they have a decree of training, learning, listening to the teammates and the coach."
