Lionel Scaloni has named his first Argentina squad since Lionel Messi's retirement from international football last month.

After guiding Argentina to World Cup and Copa America glory, Messi called time on his Argentina career.

He signed off with a goal against Benin during the last international break, with Argentina now embarking on a new era without their former captain.

Key names such as Julian Alvarez, Enzo Fernandez and Lisandro Martinez have been named in the squad, while Cristian Romero has missed out with a reported injury.

Nico Paz and Matias Soule have retained their places in the squad with their impressive performances for Como and Roma respectively, while Lautaro Martinez remains out with a thigh injury.

Emiliano Martinez has been included by Scaloni, despite the Chelsea goalkeeper suffering a fractured jaw last month.

Argentina face Uruguay on November 13 before taking on Costa Rica four days later during this international break.
