Scholes slams Bruno Fernandes: "Look at his own performance, he should keep quiet"

As Man United continues to assess the reasons for its loss to Hull City, Scholes has criticized Bruno Fernandes.

Scholes stated that Bruno Fernandes’ performance in Man United’s defeat to Hull City left him in no position to make public comments.

The scrutiny of the Red Devils' season-opening Premier League loss to Hull City continues.

Following the defeat at the MKM Stadium, Fernandes told the media that his teammates had made the same mistakes as last season. Man United were highly active in the transfer market this summer, focusing on strengthening the midfield, but Hull City neutralized new signings Moisés Caicedo and Kalvin Phillips, both of whom were substituted in the second half.

Despite the struggles of these two new signings, valued at a combined £85 million, Scholes directed his criticism at Fernandes, particularly over his post-match comments.

Asked about the Man United captain's criticism during the "Football's Got Balls" podcast, Scholes said: "Look at his own performance in the game. I think he'd better keep his mouth shut, because his own performance was terrible."

After losing to Hull City, Fernandes told TNT Sports: “We made the same mistakes as last season by giving our opponents too much possession in every away game. In the first 20 minutes, our goalkeeper had the most touches.”

"We need to press more actively, be more aggressive, and work on our set-piece defense. We can’t concede goals like that anymore. When we face these types of teams, they are just waiting for such opportunities."
