Following the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Senesi returned to his hometown of Concordia and received a heartfelt welcome from the local community. The center-back was honored by thousands of residents during Thursday's celebrations.

The Concordia City Government posted a message on social media, inviting residents to welcome Senesi on Thursday afternoon: "When one of our compatriots returns triumphantly, the entire city comes out to greet him. Marcos has returned to his hometown, and we want to welcome him with everyone, to hold a celebration honoring his career and celebrating that Concordia has produced its first player to represent Argentina in the FIFA World Cup—a source of immense pride for us."
"This will be a moment for our entire community to welcome him together, to thank him for the effort, dedication, and humility he has shown on the world's biggest football stage while representing Concordia. Please bring your Argentine flags, wear your national team jerseys, and come with your families so we can all celebrate our local pride together. We look forward to giving you a grand welcome that will be remembered in Concordia's history!" the city government added.
Senesi appeared in front of city hall on Thursday. He had arrived Wednesday evening but kept a low profile with family and friends. On Thursday, large crowds of supporters took to the streets to welcome the defender.
Senesi said: "Obviously, I'm very happy everyone came out. I never thought I'd experience something like this—returning to my hometown and receiving such a welcome. It's truly incredible, and I sincerely thank everyone for coming. The members of our national team saw the celebrations throughout Concordia and across Argentina, and all of this deeply moved us. It's truly wonderful. As someone from here, seeing my hometown celebrate like this is priceless to me."
