Dest reportedly told his teammates that he is moving to the Camp Nou after Ajax's win against Vitesse, with just the finer details of his Barcelona contract to be sorted.
On Monday, Dest posted a story on Instagram as he was on his way to Amsterdam airport, with a move to Barcelona nearing completion.
Barcelona offered 23 million euros for Dest, beating a host of European clubs to his signature, including Bayern Munich.
Dest will replace Nelson Semedo on Barcelona's right flank, with the Portuguese full-back now at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
