Manchester City plan on building a statue for Sergio Aguero outside of the Etihad Stadium, just hours after it was revealed a sculpture for David Silva would also be commissioned.

City will pay tribute to Silva who has played a major role in turning the club into one of the biggest in the Premier League during his 10 years service at the club, helping them win 11 major honours during that time.

Silva played his game for the club in a Champions League defeat by Lyon on Saturday and has now penned a deal to join Real Sociedad next season.

City are set to unveil both statues next year, but plans are being made to add a third player in the form of record goal scorer Aguero.

After joining in 2011, the Argentine is also set to hit a decade service next summer by which point he is expected to add many more to his existing tally of 254 goals for the club.

With Aguero still having one more year on his current deal, City are in no rush to make a decision but already support is gathering for a statue.

However no decision is expected to be announced until the 32-year-old's exit plans are known.

According to the Sun, City are conducting talks over eventually adding an Aguero statue along with Kompany and Silva making it the 'three amigos'.

As well as having a statue outside the Eithad, City will dedicate a training pitch at the City Football Academy to Silva with a mosaic celebrating his role in the famous 6-1 win over Manchester United in 2011.

Aguero is now the last man standing at the club from the side that claimed their first league title in 44 years in dramatic fashion when he scored in stoppage time to seal a famous win over QPR in 2012.

Along with Silva and Kompany, the Argentine has been pivotal to the team's success since.

This includes winning three more league titles including their total domination in 2018 which saw them become the first team to reach 100 points, leading them to be dubbed'The Centurions'.

The past decade though has also seen City become an established Champions League side as well as one of the most successful domestic cup teams too, landing a unique domestic treble last term.
