Sevilla midfielder Pablo Sarabia 'declined an offer' from Chelsea in January as the Premier League side looked to bolster creativity in the middle of the park.
Sarabia has starred for the La Liga side this season scoring 19 goals and adding 13 assists.
Chelsea were interested but according to Mundo Deportivo, via talkSPORT, the player 'rejected' the switch to Stamford Bridge in favour of staying in Seville.
Sarabia moved to Sevilla from Getafe in 2016 and having impressed in La Liga and the Europa League, is believed to be one of Europe's most undervalued players.
Reports in Spain suggest the player has a release clause of just £15.4million with his contract due for expiry in 2020.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri saw pressure intensify in January and he desperately wanted to add to his squad in a bid to lift a number of underperforming stars.
