Sheffield United 'eye move for Joe Hart after failing to secure Dean Henderson'

Sheffield United have considered a move for Joe Hart in case they fail to agree terms with Manchester United over Dean Henderson.

Hart is prepared to leave Burnley with Nick Pope and Tom Heaton ahead of him in the pecking order - though Heaton has interest from Aston Villa and Liverpool.

Hart also has the Premier League experience that could help Sheffield United on their return to the top flight.

Manager Chris Wilder has had to weigh up alternatives with Manchester United asking for a loan fee for their first choice Henderson who is poised to agree a new contract with the Old Trafford club.

Wilder's budget is tight so he has also asked about Mechelen keeper Michael Verrips.

The Premier League new boys are in the process of adding Ben Osborn from Nottingham Forest and have asked about free agent Leroy Fer.

They still hope to revive their bid for Swansea striker Ollie McBurnie too
