Sheffield United's Lys Mousset has been charged with driving offences after a collision involving his orange Lamborghini Aventador.
The 25-year-old striker is due to appear in court in June accused of driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
Emergency services were called out to a road in Sheffield just after midnight on January 4 with Mousset's car badly damaged in the middle of the road and a number of parked vehicles hit.
The charges come at a terrible time for the Blades who are bottom of the Premier League with their manager Chris Wilder having left the club on Saturday night, less than 24 hours ahead of their Premier League encounter at Leicester City.
United have taken only 14 points from 28 matches and the club have asked under-23s team manager Paul Heckingbottom, a good friend of Wilder, to take charge at the King Power Stadium.
Wilder and Saudi owner Prince Abdullah have been at loggerheads for weeks but had hoped to continue as normal until the end of the season before another bust-up following last weekend's 2-0 home defeat against Southampton.
It is unclear if Mousset will be involved in the game on Sunday. He impressed in his first season for the club following a £10million move from Bournemouth in the summer of 2019 but hasn't scored in eight appearances this season.
South Yorkshire Police said on Saturday: 'A 25 year-old man has been charged after a collision in Abbeydale Road South, Sheffield, on Monday, January 4.'
