Shocking moment! Liverpool and Man City fans FIGHT on underground train 🎥

Frenzied Manchester City and Liverpool fans punched, bottled and kicked each other in an ugly Tube bust-up ahead of this afternoon's Community Shield final clash.

Supposed supporters of the two top-flight clubs took their bitter rivalry from the North West and brought it to London where they squared up in violent clashes on the Underground.

Dramatic footage shows about a dozen hooligans brawling on a packed train which is stuck on the platform because the fight is spilling out of the carriage and blocking the doors from closing.

Fists are seen flying and clattering into jaws and at one point a thug clutching a beer bottle rushes forward and seemingly smacks it into an opposition supporter.

Cries of 'leave it!' are shouted but the men continue to scrap, tugging at each others t-shirt and raining down blows.

And just when the fighting seems to be dying down as one set of fans exit the Tube, it suddenly flares back up again in a fresh explosion of violence.

A man in a black t-shirt marches forward and swings for a foe, before he is wrestled into a headlock.

It is not clear which sets of fans belong to either particular club, but Stephen Patten, the person who filmed the brawl and shared it on Twitter, sarcastically said: 'Liverpool and City fans in good spirits ahead of the Community Shield.'

The final kicked off at Wembley this afternoon where the two Premier League teams attempted to add to their silverware cabinet.

Traditionally, the competition sees the previous season's Premier League winners take on the FA Cup winners.

But because City won both trophies, Liverpool - the League runners-up - took to the field.

Although the clubs are not historic foes, a rivalry has been brewing over the past few years as the teams jostle at the top of the table.

The British Transport Police were not available for comment.
