Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was unhappy with the four minutes of injury-time added on by referee Jon Moss before Everton snatched a last-gasp equaliser against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin struck in the 95th-minute to earn Everton a 3-3 draw and dent United’s hopes of keeping pace with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
Solskjaer compared Moss’s decision to the three minutes added on by Mike Dean in United’s 9-0 win over Southampton in midweek despite their being so many goals and two red cards.
‘Four minutes it’s beyond me compared to the three we had the other day,’ said Solskjaer. ‘But we should have played the minute out better.
‘We had to get the ball in the corner and see it out but we didn’t. They launched it with 10 men in the box.
‘They were poor goals. During the game you expect one or two good moments from opponents. When it’s the last minute in added time that’s disappointing.
‘It feels worse in the 94th-minute. The first five minutes of the second half were hard to take. But we played well in the second half and should have been out of sight.
‘Football is about getting the ball in one net and keeping it out of the other. We didn’t do that and it cost us.’
Solskjaer confirmed that Paul Pogba suffered a thigh injury when he limped off before half-time, but United won’t know how long the Frenchman will be out of action until he has tests on Sunday. ‘He couldn’t carry on,’ said Solskjaer. ‘He will have a scan tomorrow to see how serious it is.’
