Premier League ace Nathan Redmond has been banned from driving for 28 days after being caught doing more than 20mph over the speed limit in his £90,000 Range Rover.

The Southampton and England star was less than two miles from the club’s St Mary’s ground when he was clocked doing 62mph in a 40mph zone in his black Range Rover Autobiography.

The speedy 24-year-old’s latest offence is the second in just over a year, after he was handed six points last year for driving at 72mph in a 40 zone.

Saints star Redmond, who played for England against Germany in 2017, risked being banned from driving at the time, but escaped with just the six point penalty and a £1,000 fine.

However, after being caught speeding again magistrates have now banned him from getting behind the wheel for 28 days and fined him just one per cent of his reported £60,000 a week wage.

Aldershot Magistrates’ Court, Hants, heard the latest incident, in his car which has a top speed of 150mph, happened on July 15 this year.

The attacking midfielder was caught by a speed camera during Southampton’s pre-season training, just a week before they flew out to France to play two friendly matches.

The court heard Redmond, of Dorridge near Solihull, West Mids, had admitted speeding at an earlier hearing.

England international Redmond has played 12 times for Southampton this season as the club find themselves in a relegation battle having won just one game.

Redmond, who did not attend the hearing, was slapped with a £666 fine for speeding, as well as being ordered to pay £85 and a £66 victim surcharge.
