Spartak Moscow have announced Victor Moses will be joining the club on a permanent deal from Chelsea this summer.
The Nigerian joined the Russian outfit last summer on loan after failing to win over former Blues boss Frank Lampard, with the deal turning permanent if Spartak finished in the top three of the Russian Premier League.
And his temporary stay in the Russian capital proved to be a success, as he scored four goals and laid on as many assists in 19 appearances as Spartak finished runners-up to champions Zenit St Petersburg following the final round of games at the weekend.
One of his strikes came in Spartak's final game of the season, with his 82nd-minute strike earning them a 2-2 draw at Akhmat Grozny and ensuring they finished a point above city rivals Lokomotiv, securing a place in the third round of Champions League qualification ties in the process.
Now the club have confirmed that they will trigger the option to keep the 30-year-old on a permanent basis, with reports from Goal claiming the Blues will receive a €4.5million (£3.9m) fee in three instalments.
'His contract would be automatically redeemed if the team finished in the top three, and we finished second,' Spartak's PR director Anton Fetisov told RIA Novosti.
The Russian side used Moses in the right wing-back role that made him so crucial to Antonio Conte in Chelsea's last Premier League title-winning season in 2016-17.
He made 34 Premier League appearances in that campaign, before playing 38 times across all competitions in 2017-18 to add an FA Cup to his list of honours won.
His loan move to Spartak last year was his sixth temporary stint away from Stamford Bridge since joining the west London outfit in 2012 from Wigan.
Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham, Fenerbahce and Inter Milan also added Moses to their ranks on loan deals before his spell with Spartak.
He made 128 appearances for the Blues during his nine-year stay, scoring 18 goals and providing another 13 assists, but did not play for the club after 2018.
Moses' departure may be the first of many sales at Chelsea this summer, with the futures of Ross Barkley, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zappacosta and Michy Batshuayi yet to be resolved after loan spells at Aston Villa, Napoli, Genoa and Crystal Palace this term.
AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli also confirmed earlier this month that the club are interested in signing Blues centre-back Fikayo Tomori permanently, with the Italian giants having a £25m buy option included as part of the loan.
Tomori has impressed since arriving on loan from Stamford Bridge in January, making 25 appearances in all competitions and scoring in the 3-0 win at Juventus earlier this month.
