Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola says he “won’t stand for” being called injury-prone after seeing a January move to Inter fall through.
Spinazzola was on his way to Inter in an exchange deal with Matteo Politano until the Nerazzurri moved the goalposts, demanding the full-back underwent more tests.
The 27-year-old has suffered from various injuries in the past, including an ACL tear, but he maintains talk of him being ‘lame’ is wide off the mark.
“To tell a player who has played 22 games and represented their national team that they are lame, I won’t stand for it.
“After that week I turned a page mentally. I found myself again.”
