Match Report

Willian and Frank Lampard got the better of their former manager Jose Mourinho as Chelsea seemingly set their Premier League campaign back on track with a 2-0 win at Tottenham in an ill-tempered London derby.

Chelsea's impressive early season form under head coach Lampard had tailed away in the time Mourinho reinvigorated Spurs, having succeeded the struggling Mauricio Pochettino last month.

Indeed, Tottenham would have leapfrogged the Blues into fourth with victory, yet Willian scored twice before half-time - the second from the penalty spot after a remarkable Paulo Gazzaniga error.

Son Heung-min was sent off for kicking out at Antonio Rudiger with 28 minutes left, and Lampard's men cruised to the finish at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Match Events

12' GOAL! Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea (Willian)

Willian takes a corner short and plays a one-two off Kovacic.

The Brazilian isn't picked up as he makes the run into the box and curls his shot through the crowd in the box and into the far bottom corner.

27' Kane's shot over the bar

Sissoko drives into the box before cutting it back to Kane on the penalty spot. He takes the shot first time but fires his effort just over the crossbar.

29' Son's shot over the bar

It's a quick counter-attack from Spurs started by Gazzaniga and he picks out Kane down the right.

He curls a low cross into the far post where Son is waiting, but he slices at the shot and fires it over from close range.

43' Ardent conflict between Alli and Kovalic

Tempers flared between Alli and Kovacic after the Spurs midfielder ended up on his back when he ran into him in an attempt to win the ball back.

Kovacic reacted angrily and is shown a yellow card. Alli also picks up a yellow card for his reaction to the incident.

49' Penalty Goal! Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea (Willian)

Gazzaniga came off his line quickly to try and clear the ball into the box and his leg is high as he runs towards Alonso.

The two players crash into each other and go to ground and VAR is having a look to see if this should be a penalty to Chelsea.

VAR has a long look at the incident and have decided that it should be a penalty for Chelsea.

It's Willian that steps up to take it and it's a confident run-up from him. He stops just before striking the ball and he nestles the spot-kick into the bottom right corner.

54' OFFSIDE! Abraham’s goal disallowed

Willian's pass is deflected into the path of Alonso by Aurier and the left-back drills his shot towards goal first time.

Gazzaniga gets down well to save it but doesn't hold it and Abraham finds the back of the net on the rebound. He was offside in the build-up though and the flag goes up.

62' Red Card! Son sent off

A heavy first touch from Son takes the ball away from him and Rudiger wins it back just as Son goes to ground. The forward has his legs in the air and catches Rudiger in the ribs with his studs.

VAR had a long look at that incident between Son and Rudiger and have overturned the referee's decision. It was a bad challenge from the forward and he's shown a straight red card. Spurs are down to 10 men!

73' Kante's long shot over the bar

The ball falls to Kante outside the box and he takes a touch to set himself before firing his shot towards the top right corner.

There's not enough dip on the shot though and it sails just over the bar.
