Tottenham news as players send out their final messages ahead of Sheffield United clash with Ange Postecoglou hoping to extend the unbeaten run in the league
The feeling at Tottenham continues to be good as they head into their fifth Premier League game of the season, aiming to prolong an unbeaten start under Ange Postecoglou. Having bounced back from the disappointment of losing to Fulham in the cup last time out, it is Sheffield United up next.
Paul Heckingbottom's side have had a tough start back to life in the top flight, taking just one point from their opening encounters. They are in a group of early strugglers that includes each of the promoted sides last year taking up slots in the bottom four early on.
Just in case it needed to be affirmed, the club's Twitter account sent out a little hint at what to expect. Spreading the love for Yves Bissouma with a picture of the in-form Mali midfielder, they wrote: "See you all tomorrow" with an image of the player making a heart with his hands at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He has been one of the early season keystones and is surely set to play once more from the start after turning things around following on from a disappointing debut season. Meanwhile, a breakthrough star for the campaign has also ramped up the hype pre-game.
Destiny Udogie took to Instagram to post a clip of himself running into midfield from left-back against Manchester United, creating space for an attack as well as other impressive highlights from the year so far including his assist for Dejan Kulusevski away to Bournemouth. He will be keen to do more of that on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Guglielmo Vicrio is set to start in goal once more. Hugo Lloris was included in the 25-man Premier League squad named by Postecoglou for the season but isn't likely to be pushing his way into the thoughts of the manager any time soon having spent the summer looking for an exit.
He added: "Hugo’s been training with the goalkeeping group, so nothing’s really changed from that perspective." Vicario is certainly the new No.1 though and that isn't set to change against Sheffield United.
Emerson Royal is another that has taken to Instagram ahead of the game, not only showing off a fresh hair cut but also promoting himself. The Brazilian has been replaced by Pedro Porro as the first choice right-back but has shown himself to be a much improved option under Postecoglou.
He posted an image of himself on a pre-game graphic, perhaps a hint that he could be included from the get-go? Cristian Romero has done the same with a personalised graphic on his Instagram story. The Argentine is sure to be in the XI after such a strong start to the season.
