Stoke City have agreed to pay their share of gate receipts to rivals Port Vale after crowd trouble marred their Checkatrade Trophy derby, causing severe damage to the away stand.
Toilets were wrecked, missiles hurled and windows smashed during the December 4 fixture between the home side and their rival's Under 21s.
Vale, who won the match 4-0, were left with a significant repair bill thanks largely to the actions of sections of a substantial away following.
In a statement last night, the League Two club confirmed their neighbours had agreed to donate their portion of a 7,940 gate.
Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite thanked Stoke for a 'kind gesture' and said work was underway to repair the damage ahead of Saturday's visit of Cheltenham Town.
Meanwhile. police investigating the trouble have now made 18 arrests.
Tactical support officers swooped on three men this morning following tip-offs from the public.
Two men, both from Stoke and aged 34 and 29, were held on suspicion of violent disorder, while a 47-year-old man, also from Stoke, was arrested on suspicion of the same offence and bailed.
Of the 18 arrested, eight have been released while investigations continue, two were freed with no further action while four have been bailed.
A 61-year-old man and a 34-year-old man have both been charged with using behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
