Sturridge leads Liverpool celebrations after Champions League triumph

Liverpool's Champions League party continued long into the night in Madrid with Daniel Sturridge treating his team-mates and fans to an impromptu DJ set.

The striker claimed the second Champions League winners medal of his career though he was an unused substitute in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Wanda Metropolitano.

And Sturridge was happy to lead the celebrations at a Madrid nightspot into the early hours as he partied with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and others.

With his medal still hanging around his neck and still in training gear, Sturridge captured the celebrations on his Instagram account as he danced and sung with Oxlade-Chamberlain.

In the next clip, Sturridge was picking the tunes on the DJ decks as he captioned his post 'we're still going baby'.

And Liverpool had every reason to celebrate as they lifted the European Cup for the sixth time in their history thanks to Mohamed Salah's second-minute penalty and a late second by Divock Origi.

It was a first success in Europe for their manager Jurgen Klopp but Sturridge had been there before, having won the competition with Chelsea in 2012.

He didn't get off the bench on Saturday night but had featured in seven matches - albeit some very briefly - during Liverpool's run to Champions League glory.

Having found himself behind Roberto Firmino and Origi for his position, it looks unlikely that Sturridge will be at Anfield next season, especially given his contract is set to expire.
