John Terry admitted to rejecting three managerial job offers after fans questioned his future in football on social media.

The former Aston Villa assistant manager took up a coaching consultancy role at Chelsea last year - a part-time position designed to help develop the club's talent.

Assuring fans just how happy he is in the role, Terry took to social media on Sunday to stress that he has not been shying away from roles in management.

'Getting loads of messages regarding me not managing,' he posted on Instagram.

'I turned down three jobs last year and interviewed for two more that I didn't get.

'It's a personal decision that I have come to.

'I have my role at Chelsea that I love and my family time, which means everything to me. And I get time to enjoy myself.'

Sportsmail reported in December that Terry was 'politely let down' by a few clubs in the top two tiers of the English game.

Following his departure as assistant at Aston Villa in 2021, the former defender had been eagerly pursuing a role in management.

However, as the wait for his debut head coach position continues, the 41-year-old admitted to enjoying life at Stamford Bridge alongside his family.

During his time with Chelsea as a player, Terry made 715 appearances to help win the Blues five Premier Leagues, five FA Cups, three League Cups and a Champions League.
