It has been revealed that Atletico Madrid shareholder Idan Ofer played a key role in the move to bring Joao Felix to the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

The Israeli businessman owns 32 percent of the Spanish club and played a vital role in securing the Portuguese starlet.

This is according to Antonio Ruiz, with it revealed on Cadena COPE and Radio MARCA that Ofer's reputation and financial muscle helped the club to pay 126 million euros to Benfica.

Ofer is, according to Forbes, the 394th richest person in the world.

It was also revealed that Atletico Madrid are paying just 30m euros of the fee up front and that the player has decided to stay in the La Finca complex, where many other footballers live, with his parents.
