Napoli police have not yet issued a statement regarding the incident. The club strongly advised fans not to walk alone in the city and to avoid wearing clothing that identifies them as Chelsea supporters.
In addition, a free shuttle service, escorted by police, was arranged for the 2,500 ticketed fans to help them safely reach the stadium in the evening.
