Alisson & Fabinho have vaccination status confirmed

Liverpool and Brazil fans will let out a collective sigh of relief today, with the Brazil FA confirming the vaccination status of Reds pair Alisson & Fabinho.

The Liverpool stalwarts will be apart of Tite’s upcoming Seleção squad as the South American giants face three World Cup qualifying fixtures starting next week.

Brazil begin the second-half of their qualifying campaign in the drivers seat, sitting atop Conmebol’s section while having won all eight of their matches and sitting 6-points clear of Argentina.

Tite’s outfit clash with bottom-dwelling Venezuela in Caracas on the 7 October, before a pair of more difficult meetings comes by way of Colombia (5th) away at Barranquilla and then hosting Uruguay (3rd) in Manaus.

Quarantine rules will see Liverpool duo miss out on immediate return

While Alisson and Fabinho will be cleared to feature for Brazil without issue, their status for Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool side given restrictions regarding Covid-19 rules will see the pair unable to return to immediate action.

As such, the Brazilian duo will miss out on the clash with Watford at Vicarage Road immediately following the international break. However, the Liverpool stalwarts should be fit and ready to go for the Reds’ away day at Old Trafford on 24 October to face Manchester United.

Sandwiched in between Watford and United is a European night against Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano, but because of the ability for footballers to remain in an elite bubble and train with the team, Alisson and Fabinho are cleared to take part in training as normal at Kirkby.

Jürgen Klopp will be hopeful that Thiago will regain fitness in time to stand-in for Fabinho, while back-up keeper Caoimhin Kelleher is set to deputize for Alisson.
