The number 10, a special jersey for Jese

New Real Betis loan signing, Jese Rodriguez, has returned to Spain to try to reignite his career and he will attempt to do wearing a very special number on his back.

The former Real Madrid man has been handed the number 10 jersey for his spell in Andalusia after a rocky period with Paris Saint-Germain.

It was the number he wore in his time at Real Madrid's academy, where he shone and eventually broke into the first team.

While it seemed destined for him in the senior squad following Mesut Ozil's departure, marketing reasons saw it fall to James Rodriguez.

The likes of Javier Pastore and then Neymar deprived him of it in Paris, while Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting occupied it during his loan at Stoke City.

Eventually his temporary transfer to Las Palmas saw him don the no.10 shirt which, curiously, was under his new coach Quique Setien.

Now, at Betis, Jese is again to wear his favourite shirt number, thanks to the Ryad Boudebouz, its previous occupant, departed on the final day transfer window.
