Olivier Ntcham scored the only goal of the games as Celtic beat rivals Rangers in the first Old Firm clash of the season.
The midfielder capped off a lightning counter attack as Brendan Rodgers' side inflicted the first defeat of Steven Gerrard's tenure at Ibrox.
But there were plenty of other happenings that you may have missed from Sunday's clash. Luckily, Sportsmail kept a beady eye on them for you.
Where were all the Rangers fans?
Old Firm clashes are routinely fought off the pitch as well as on it, with both sets of supporters determined to make their voices heard over the 90 minutes.
But on Sunday, Rangers were cheered on by only 800 fans inside Celtic Park after the two clubs ended their mutual agreement to allow enlarged away followings for Old Firm derbies.
There are normally 7,000 away fans at Scottish football's marquee fixture but those days are past after Rangers decided to drastically cut that number earlier this year.
Celtic quickly responded in kind and the result was a sea of green, punctuated only by a tiny pocket of blue.
But Nacho Novo was one of the lucky ones...
There was a familiar face among the travelling contingent, with former Rangers forward Nacho Novo spotted in the Celtic Park crowd.
Now, I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but I reckon he's not come by a ticket through years of going home and away as a season ticket holder.
But he did show his commitment to the cause across more than 250 appearances for the Glasgow club. And now Novo even owns a Rangers pub near to Ibrox!
Police mocked for no drunkards warning
Following clashes between rival supporters when they met in April, Rangers and Celtic fans were given a stark warning by police ahead of the game.
'Keep a lid on the drinking before the match today. You won't get in if you are drunk,' the force tweeted.
Predictably, the warning was met with widespread derision, with some fans even showing what they thought of the idea by posting videos of them drinking beer.
McGregor escapes punishment for kicking Ajer
There were six yellow cards in Sunday's fiery meeting, among them Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor who was booked for time wasting.
But the keeper was arguably lucky to stay on the pitch after he kicked out at Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer during the first half.
After punching a free-kick clear, McGregor expressed his displeasure with Ajer's high- footed challenge by kicking him while on the floor.
The officials didn't see it, though, so he faced no repercussions.
Scott Brown goes full Scott Brown... but has the last laugh again
Death, taxes and Scott Brown getting stuck in against Rangers are about the three certainties in this life.
The combative midfielder lasted a total of nine minutes before lunging in on Kyle Lafferty and picking up a yellow card.
Rival fans mocked the midfielder's tendency to find trouble but again it was Brown who was laughing come the final whistle as Celtic retained the Old Firm bragging rights.
