It's time to check in on Arsenal's army of loan players with the likes of Kieran Tierney, Runar Alex Runarsson and Mauro Bandeira all in action over the past week
The past week has been a quiet one for Arsenal's loan army with the international break the cause of that.
So with no games taking place in the Premier League or French football's top flight, it meant Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos have been putting in some extra work in training with their respective clubs having not been selected for international duty either.
However, while Wrexham were in League Two action against Doncaster Rovers at the weekend, Arthur Okonkwo - who joined the club on transfer deadline day - was an unused substitute for the 2-1 victory with former Gunners goalkeeper Mark Howard getting the nod in between the sticks.
Despite making the switch to Bromley last week, neither Kido Taylor-Hart and Alex Kirk made the matchday squad for their 4-1 win over Maidenhead United on Saturday. Meanwhile, for one reason or another Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand,Tyreece John-Jules, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, Henry Jeffcott and Omar Rekik weren't in action either.
Nor was Mika Biereth as his Motherwell spell has been disrupted by an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined until November at the earliest. Charlie Patino and Brooke Norton-Cuffy could make their England U21 bows today (Monday) in the qualifier against Luxembourg and Catalin Cirjan is in line to feature for Romania U21s on Tuesday.
Therefore, football.london's round-up begins with Kieran Tierney. The left-back, who made his debut for Real Sociedad just over a week ago, operated in his usual left-sided centre-back role in Scotland's Euro 2024 qualifier against Cyprus with Scott McTominay on the scoresheet once again in a 3-0 win.
In fact, that result has left the Tartan Army on the brink of qualification. Supporters could even be able to book flights to Germany as early as Tuesday if results in Group A go their way, but at this point, it feels inevitable that Tierney will be playing in his second major international tournament next summer.
But the very next assignment for the defender is a return to the UK and potentially a reunion with Arsenal teammates Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah and Declan Rice as England are the visitors to Hampden Park on Tuesday evening in an eagerly anticipated international friendly.
With that said, Runar Alex Runarsson had an outing to forget. Beaten three times as Iceland's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2024 took a huge hit as a result of losing to Luxembourg. This means the goalkeeper has now conceded seven goals in just three appearances for club and country so far this season.
The two Arsenal youngsters in domestic action at the weekend both had cause for celebration. Mauro Bandeira came off the bench to help Colchester United beat Tranmere Rovers and Brian Okonkwo was in goal as Leatherhead thumped Herne Bay 6-1 in the FA Trophy first qualifying round.
But Billy Vigar was on the losing side in Eastbourne Borough's National League South fixture away at Yeovil Town.
