Mikel Arteta is not ruling out a leadership role for Granit Xhaka at Arsenal in the future despite the Swiss international being stripped of the captaincy earlier this season.
Asked by football.london whether he could envisage Xhaka captaining Arsenal again, Arteta said: "I don't know, time will tell that.
"Now he's happy to stay here, he's completely committed and that's a big plus today."
"I don't like to judge things that happened like this without all the information," Arteta said of the incident in October.
"When I got here I understood a little bit the whole picture. I understood the gravity of the situation, that it has to be resolved one way or another.
"I just tried to do the best to defend the club in the best possible way."
