Sandro Tonali has finally arrived in Newcastle after joining from AC Milan - with his wife Juliette Pastore already sporting the club's famous black-and-white.

Tonali, 23, completed his £52million move from Milan earlier this week and has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at St James' Park.

And two days after his transfer was finally confirmed after much speculation, the Italy midfielder has touched down on Tyneside as he prepares to join up with Eddie Howe's side.

On Wednesday night Newcastle shared footage on social media of Tonali's private jet landing in the city, before he is seen stepping out of the plane alongside his stunning partner.

Pastore, the Instagram model and fashion designer who has had an on-off relationship with Tonali for the last four years, even donned a black-and-white jumper to match their new team's colours upon arrival in England.

Tonali, who spent three years at Milan after leaving boyhood club Brescia initially on loan in 2020, featured 130 times for the Italian giants and was part of their Serie A title-winning side in 2021-22. He has also been capped 14 times by Italy.

After becoming Newcastle's second signing of the summer this week, he said: 'First of all, I want to thank Newcastle United because they are giving me a huge opportunity for my career.

'I want to repay the trust on the pitch, giving it my all, as I always have. I'm really excited about playing at St. James' Park, I can't wait to feel the warmth of the fans.'

Newcastle are gearing up for Champions League football next season after an incredible 2022-23 campaign which saw them secure an unlikely fourth-place finish in the Premier League.

And ahead of their arrival in Europe's elite club competition, Howe is convinced Tonali's experience will come as a huge boost.

He said: 'I'm delighted to welcome Sandro to Newcastle United. He is an exceptional talent and has the mentality, physicality and technical attributes to be a great fit for us.

'At 23, Sandro already has important experience as a key player in one of Europe's top leagues and in the Champions League, as well as playing for his country.

'But he also has the opportunity and potential to grow and evolve with us, and I'm excited to add him to our squad as we approach the exciting season ahead.'

Tonali has been watched extensively by Newcastle's scouts in recent months, including the Champions League semi-finals against rivals Inter, which ended in defeat.

He is seen as a player who can anchor Newcastle's midfield, freeing Bruno Guimaraes to play further forward.

Until now, Newcastle's only signing this summer game in the form of 18-year-old Gambia forward Yankuba Minteh from Danish side OB.
