Tottenham are to appoint Rangers chief scout Andy Scoulding to their recruitment staff ahead of next season.

Scoudling is expected to be handed the title of assistant performance director at Spurs when he arrives later this summer.

Highly-respected recruitment specialist Steve Hitchen left the club earlier this year and Spurs have been keen on bolstering their staff to work alongside managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

Scoulding has been one of the key recruitment leaders at Ibrox in recent years, playing a key role in their rebuild under Steven Gerrard.

He played a key role in the signings of Joe Aribo from Charlton, Calvin Bassey from Leicester City’s academy and Ryan Kent from Liverpool.

Scoulding is highly respected in the recruitment field - and is understood to rely significantly on data analysis when it comes to player identification.

He was previously at Liverpool and Valencia under Gary Neville. He has also held the role of performance analyst for England.
