Tottenham are reportedly interested in Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez, who has struggled for consistent minutes under Zinedine Zidane next season.

Vazquez has made just 14 LaLiga appearances this season and is yet to play since the Spanish top-division restarted due to a calf injury.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is eyeing a move for the 28-year-old, who he worked with during his time at Madrid from 2010-13 when Vazquez was a reserve player, and Spurs could sign him on the cheap with his contract due to expire next year, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The report details that Tottenham are aiming for a price around £15m (€17m), while Madrid value their academy product at closer to £22.5m (€25m).

Talks over an extension to his Real Madrid contract expiring in 2021 have also reportedly stalled.

Since a loan move to Espanyol in 2014-15, Vazquez has been a key member of a Real Madrid squad which won three Champions Leagues on the bounce from 2016-2018.

He also won LaLiga in 2017, and could pick up another league winners medal this season with Zidane's side currently two points clear of Barcelona with six games to go.

Madrid picked up another three points on Sunday, with Casemiro's goal in first-half stoppage time the difference against Espanyol.

Overall during his time at Madrid, Vazquez has made 201 appearances in all competitions, scoring 24 goals and registering 46 assists.
