Tottenham have announced some high-profile changes to their academy set-up, with the likes of Yaya Toure and Jermain Defoe joining the coaching ranks.

They have also appointed Simon Davies, a member of the famous 'class of 92' Manchester United youth side, as Head of Coaching Methodology.

Davies is the most experienced coach of the new appointments, having spent time managing Anderlecht and the Manchester City academy.

Toure arrives at Hotspur Way with a wealth of experience as a player after winning 13 major trophies as a player, including three Premier Leagues, a Champions League and an African Cup of Nations.

The 39-year-old will be Head Coach for the club's Under-16 side after working at Spurs on a part-time basis for the last eight months as he works towards his UEFA A Licence.

The role suits Toure as he lives with his family in Hampstead, near to the club's Hotspur Way training ground.

Tottenham legend Jermain Defoe has already been announced as a new coach, and will work alongside the Academy staff.

He has some coaching experience after working as a player-coach under Steven Gerrard at Rangers.

Defoe also knows Spurs inside out after scoring 143 goals in 362 games for the club across three spells.
