Levy sent Pochettino plea

Tottenham Hotspur legend Ricky Villa has urged Mauricio Pochettino to complete a sensational return to Spurs as he seemingly edges closer to being named Chelsea manager.

Pochettino does not appear on Spurs' short list of names laid out by Daniel Levy with Julian Nagelsmann, Vincent Kompany and Xabi Alonso instead as three favourites to take permanent charge.

Although, the Tottenham chairman has been urged by Villa to bring Pochettino back as manager nearly four years on from sacking him, along with providing his verdict on the current state of the club.

Worrying injury news confirmed

Ryan Mason has confirmed that Hugo Lloris and Ryan Sessegnon will miss the rest of Tottenham's season through injury.

The Frenchman has not played for the Lilywhites since coming off at half-time in the recent 6-1 defeat away at Newcastle United due to a muscle issue, with Sessegnon's last game coming in the 1-0 win over Man City at the start of February after he suffered a hamstring injury.

The duo will join Rodrigo Bentancur as members of the squad not expected until next season with Mason revealing more tests confirming the extent of Lloris' injury.

Mason formation admission

Ryan Mason has admitted he is unsure if he will switch to a back four following Ben Davies' return from injury.

Always operating with a three-man defence and wing-backs under Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini, the latter opted to go with four in defence for the recent 6-1 defeat at Newcastle United.

Having previously gone with a back four when he was in charge of Tottenham's final six league games two years ago, Mason was asked by football.london if he would revert to system he previously used following a recent boost in terms of injuries.
