Tottenham ponder Conor Gallagher Chelsea bid as Ange Postecoglou eyes £100m deadline day spree

Tottenham have dealt Chelsea a major curveball ahead of deadline day, with Ange Postecoglou eager to further bolster his squad before the summer transfer window slams shut on Friday night. Spurs have been heavily linked with numerous players since Harry Kane departed for Bayern Munich earlier this month, and now any potential deal must be completed in the coming hours.

According to The Telegraph, the Lilywhites are weighing up a late bid for Conor Gallagher, who captained the Blues to a 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup second round on Wednesday evening. The report states that Chelsea's agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of Cole Palmer has encouraged Tottenham to try their luck.

While the Gallagher saga ensues, The Telegraph add that Tottenham are also expected to submit a bid for Brennan Johnson imminently.

Man Utd breakthrough in Sergio Reguilon loan move

Tottenham have given Sergio Reguilon permission to travel for a medical ahead of a loan move to Manchester United, football.london understands. Returning to the club in the summer following a season-long loan spell with Atletico Madrid, the left-back featured in pre-season under Ange Postecoglou but has yet to appear for the Lilywhites so far this campaign.

Erik ten Hag's men have had a crisis at left-back recently, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both on the sidelines with injuries at present. Reguilon will help ease their issues, though, once he completes his move to The Theatre of Dreams.

Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham make Dane Scarlett loan decision ahead of transfer deadline day

Dane Scarlett is on the verge of joining Championship side Ipswich Town on a season-long loan deal, football.london understands. Returning to the club in the summer after spending the 2022/23 campaign on loan with Portsmouth in League One, the talented 19-year-old managed to catch Ange Postecoglou's eye in pre-season and went on to score in the Lilywhites' friendly win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Prior to his move to Suffolk, football.london understands that Scarlett will also pen a contract extension at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Back in May 2022, the academy ace put pen-to-paper on fresh terms until the summer of 2026.
