Tottenham news: Catch all the latest Tottenham news as Spurs suffer home loss, Clement Lenglet handed injury blow and Cristian Stellini reacts

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Sunday, April 16.

Champions League hopes dented

Tottenham's hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four were handed a severe blow on Saturday as they fell to a 3-2 home defeat to AFC Bournemouth.

Dango Ouattara's 95th-minute winner handed the Cherries all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and boosted their chances of staying up. Arnaut Danjuma thought he had grabbed an equaliser in the 88th minute after Dominic Solanke had put the visitors 2-1 up.

Son Heung-min had put Spurs ahead early on before Matias Vina levelled. Alongside the result, there was the additional blow of losing Clement Lenglet to injury. The defender was forced off in the 35th minute.

Clement Lenglet injury blow

Tottenham have been handed yet another injury blow this season after defender Clement Lenglet was forced off after only 35 minutes against AFC Bournemouth.

Lenglet was replaced by Davinson Sanchez after going down on the halfway line. The Frenchman attempted to tackle Philip Billing but came off the worse of the two.

The extent of the injury is yet to be made clear.

Stellini verdict

Cristian Stellini gave his thoughts on Tottenham's 3-2 home defeat to Bournemouth. The Italian admitted that his time dropped deep after going 1-0 up early on.

"My assessment is that today we played two different games. We played a good game until we scored and after we conceded the second goal. What is in the middle is not the mindset we have to use because we started the game well. When we scored we dropped.

"We dropped again. We have to change this type of mindset. We have said many times that we need to continue to go strong and try to keep the ball in their half of the pitch. We did this only when we were 2-1 down."
