Tanguy Ndombele enjoyed a taste of things to come on Friday as he reported for his first day of pre-season training with his new club Tottenham.

Ndombele sealed a club-record £65million transfer to Tottenham at the beginning of July after impressing with Lyon and he is seen as a tailor-made replacement for Mousa Dembele.

And now the French midfielder has been adapting to his new surroundings in north London ahead of his debut season in the Premier League.

Tottenham revealed on Twitter that their big-name signing, who put pen to paper on a six-year contract, had arrived ahead of his first day of pre-season.

The Premier League outfit posted a picture on social media of Ndombele rocking up at Hotspur Way training ground, alongside the caption: 'Look who's here...'.

The £65m fee for Ndombele tops the £42m Spurs splashed out for centre back Davinson Sanchez in 2017.

He has been a long-term target for manager Mauricio Pochettino and having been keen to sign him in the previous two windows, the Tottenham boss made the player his No 1 priority this summer.

During the 2018-19 campaign for Lyon, the 22-year-old managed five assists and a goal from 34 top-flight outings alone.

Tottenham will hope to get a first glimpse of their new signing in action when they travel out to Singapore for the International Champions Cup - taking on Juventus on July 21.
