Yaya Toure's agent Dimitry Seluk posted a controversial voodoo doll cartoon of Pep Guardiola after Manchester City's Champions League defeat to Lyon on Wednesday.

Seluk, who has been embroiled in a long-standing feud with the City boss over his perceived treatment of Toure, uploaded the image to his Twitter feed following the Premier League champions' surprise 2-1 home defeat in their Champions League opener.

The cartoon shows an African Witch Doctor sticking pins in a voodoo doll, with Guardiola featured in a speech bubble feeling a pang of pain.

It is the latest in a series of digs at Guardiola after Toure left City under a cloud to join Olympiacos this summer.

The midfielder played a key role in two Premier League titles during a glittering start to his spell in England, but later saw his game-time reduce considerably under the Catalan, causing friction.

Both Toure and Seluk accused the City manager of having an agenda against African players - with the agent going a step further and suggesting that Guardiola was  cursed to never win the Champions League again  after his actions.

'He turned all Africa against himself, many African fans turned away from Manchester City,' Seluk said earlier this year.

'And I'm sure that many African shamans in the future will not allow Guardiola to win the Champions League,'

'This will be for Guardiola an African curse. Life will show whether I am right or not.'

Despite Seluk touting his client around the Premier League during the close season and even offering reduced wages, Toure returned to former club Olympiacos following a 12-year absence.

Upon completing the move, the Ivorian was greeted by hundreds of fans and flares. He then  received a warm reception from fans as he took in Olympiacos' 5-0 thrashing of Giannena.

Toure is yet to appear for his new side since the switch.

Guardiola, meanwhile, was in the stands to watch City fall to a surprise defeat on Wednesday evening.

Unable to influence proceedings on the sidelines due to suspension, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager saw Maxwell Cornet and Nabil Fekir fire the visitors into a 2-0 half-time lead.

Bernado Silva pulled one back after the break, but Lyon held on to record one of the upsets of the first round of Champions League matches,
