Transfer rumours LIVE

This is the start of our transfer rumours blog, with the most recent updates being the ones closest to the top.

08:30 GMT: Fight for Julian Alvarez

River Plate striker Julian Alvarez has attracted interest from a whole host of European clubs, including Barcelona, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid.

Reports in Argentina now suggest that his agent, Fernando Hidago, is currently in Europe weighing up the 21-year-old's options.

"Julian Alvarez has earned a place in the market like [Erling] Haaland and [Alvaro] Morata," Fernando Hidalgo told the Argentinian newspaper Ole.

It is thought that Alvarez, who has scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in 21 league matches this season, could be available for a fee of 20 million euros.

08:00 GMT: Cristiano Ronaldo to Brazil?

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted during an interview with ESPN that he could play in Brazil.

"It's a country I have a lot of respect for, I know a lot about Brazil. Nobody knows about playing there. Nobody said I would come back to Manchester United at 36 and here I am," said Cristiano, who declared himself a fan of Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Nazario.

"Playing in Brazil? I don't know. It's far from what I'm thinking at the moment. But in football everything is possible, I don't know.

"I don't like comparisons. I prefer to say that Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and I have left our legacy, our history. I can say I won more individual trophies than them, but they both won the World Cup. I sympathise with them a lot.

"These are two players I grew up watching. To say who is the best, who is second? It's not the most important thing. I prefer to stay with the fact that they are idols and they left a beautiful history in football."
