Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) returned to winning ways with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Bordeaux at the Parc des Princes. Mauricio Pochettino's side were dumped out of Europe by a sensational Real Madrid comeback last week but responded in style through goals from Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr and Leandro Paredes.

Mbappe broke the deadlock with his 25th goal of the season in the first half, with Georginio Wijnaldum making his rare start count with his third assist of the season for PSG. However, the major talking point of the game was in relation to the PSG fans, who relentlessly booed Messi and Neymar each time they got the ball.

The former Barcelona pair have been underwhelming this season and were particularly disappointing against Real Madrid, due to which the PSG fans made their feelings clear through a series of loud boos at the Parc des Princes.

Messi and Neymar receive hostility from PSG faithful despite 3-0 win

Neymar doubled PSG's lead in the second half with a tap-in from a few yards out, but what followed was a truly unexpected chain of events. Despite his goal, the boos from the PSG fans were as loud as they could be, with the Brazilian slamming the ball into the net once again and refusing to celebrate due to the circumstances.

Leandro Paredes added a third goal in the 61st minute, with the Argentine capping off an impressive performance with a well-taken goal. PSG saw off the game with consummate ease and extended their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 standings to 15 points, but Messi and Neymar being booed by their own fans marred what was an otherwise happy outing for the home side.

Messi has just two Ligue 1 goals to his name this season and has not lived up to his stature after sealing an unexpected move from Barcelona last summer. Neymar continues to divide opinion among the PSG faithful and has not produced consistently since moving to the French capital on a world-record deal in 2017.

Here are some of the best tweets from what turned out to be an eventful game at the Parc des Princes.
