Two Celtic fans have reportedly been stabbed by Lazio ultras outside a pub ahead of their Europa League match.
According to BBC journalist Chris McLaughlin, the supporters suffered injuries that were 'not life threatening' in the violent attack late on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred outside The Flann O'Brien in the city centre, where visiting fans were drinking after arriving earlier that day.
The Daily Record claim that a group of Lazio hooligans, who arrived at the pub with their faces covered by scarves, carried out the attack.
A picture posted to Twitter appears to show blood-soaked bandages on the street.
Police were filmed on the scene shortly after the stabbing and the pub was closed around 30 minutes after the incident. An investigation is now underway.
A witness told The Scottish Sun: 'The boy was sitting outside with his girlfriend and he was stabbed in the back of the leg.
'They came out of nowhere. He was doing nothing wrong. They were shouting 'Lazio' and had masks on their faces.
'There was a group of them, all their faces were covered with masks or scarves.'
There have been suggestions that one fan was stabbed twice, rather than two sustaining separate injuries, although details remain unclear at this stage.
In a separate incident, masked Lazio ultras can be seen smashing the windows of another bar in a video posted to Twitter, as a member of staff closes its metal shutters in a bid to protect those inside.
Fans can be heard shouting obscenities as the glass shatters, although nobody appeared to be hurt.
WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE
Around 9,000 Celtic fans have made the journey to Italy despite the threat of violence from Lazio's hardcore contingent.
They were advised not to wear club colours by the Foreign Office, although that warning was ignored by many on Wednesday night.
The violence erupted two weeks after Lazio fans were filmed making fascist salutes as they walked through Glasgow, prior to the Hoops' 2-1 win at Celtic Park.
Celtic's Green Brigade hit back during the game by displaying a huge banner showing fascist leader Benito Mussolini hanging upside down, with the message 'follow your leader'.
The Scottish club were charged by UEFA over the banner, with fears it could provoke Lazio fans ahead of Thursday night's game in the Italian capital.
