Tyler Adams to Chelsea transfer slammed by USMNT legend with brutal response

The U.S captain has been linked to a move with the Blues but is now being chased by Bournemouth

Former USMNT defender Alexi Lalas has claimed Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams' proposed moves to both Bournemouth or Chelsea would be far from ideal. The 24-year-old is currently the U.S captain but saw his Leeds relegated from the top English division at the end of last season.

Since then, he's been heavily linked to a move to Stamford Bridge after Mauricio Pochettino's side triggered his £20 million release clause, indicating that they were prepared to negotiate personal terms with the star.

One person who was not impressed however was Lalas, who slammed Adams for considering a move to either club, claiming that he should look elsewhere in the Premier League for a move.

"Ew...really?" Lalas said on his State of the Union Podcast in reaction to hearing that Bournemouth had triggered the USMNT captain's release clause. Despite Fox Sports researcher and co-host David Mosse's protests about him liking the move, Lalas remained unconvinced even if a deal to Stamford Bridge was still on the cards.

"I mean I'm glad he's playing in the Premier League and I think he should be playing in the Premier League but if this was Bournemouth or even Chelsea, the way Chelsea is right now, it's... meh."
