Which teams are in the round of 16 draw?

The draw features the 16 teams that advance from the UEFA Champions League group stage:

Group winners (seeded): Arsenal (ENG), Atlético de Madrid (ESP), Barcelona (ESP), Bayern (GER), Dortmund (GER), Manchester City (ENG), Real Madrid (ESP), Real Sociedad (ESP)

Group runners-up (unseeded): Copenhagen (DEN), Inter (ITA), Lazio (ITA), Leipzig (GER), Napoli (ITA), Paris (FRA), Porto (POR), PSV Eindhoven (NED)

How does the UCL draw work?

The group winners are seeded and the runners-up are unseeded. Seeded teams are drawn against unseeded teams.

Clubs who met in the group phase cannot be drawn together, while this will be the final stage of the competition at which teams from the same national association will be kept apart.

The seeded team will be at home in the second leg of each clash, and away goals won’t be used to separate teams if they’re level at the end of either normal time or extra time in the return leg. UEFA abolished the use of the rule in all its club competitions from the start of the 2021/22 season.

When are the UCL round-of-16 ties?

The round-of-16 first legs will be played on 13, 14, 20 and 21 February 2024, with the second legs held on 5, 6, 12 and 13 March 2024.

Soon after the draw, UEFA will announce the precise schedule, which will seek to avoid teams from the same country playing on the same day. The needs of the European governing body’s broadcasting partners will also be taken into account.

When is the final?

The 2024 Champions League final will take place on Saturday, June 1.

It is scheduled to be played at Wembley Stadium in London.

The venue last hosted a Champions League final in 2013 - when Bayern Munich defeated rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1.
