Manchester United could reportedly reimburse season ticket holders the cost of their final four home games should they be cancelled or played behind closed doors.
The Premier League has been suspended until April 30 at least due to the coronavirus pandemic which has sent the UK into near-lockdown.
With the rest of the season up in the air at the moment, the Red Devils are considering paying back their loyal customers should the games not go ahead in normal circumstances, which will set them back £6million according to The Mirror.
United have a total of four Premier League home games left, against Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Southampton and West ham, plus a Europa League last-16 second-leg against LASK.
For league games in particular, Old Trafford usually attracts around 50,000 season ticket holders, meaning the cost to refund spectators would be £1.5m per game.
Discussions between the club and fan groups are ongoing, with the Manchester United Supporters Trust inviting input from season ticket holders online.
A statement on Twitter said: 'We are in disccusion with Manchester United regarding season ticket renewals and related issues arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
'We are raising issues but would like feedback from season ticket holders to make sure we are covering all the important matters arising.
'[Issues include] postponement of renewal date. Impact of financial hardship due to coronavirus. Qualification for season ticket loan payment (V12) scheme. Refunds for current season matches if not played (in public).'
In addition, a United spokesman said: 'In light of the disruption caused by coronavirus, the club is reviewing dates, policies and procedures around season ticket renewals for next season, along with the administrative processes should games that are currently postponed, be either cancelled or played behind closed doors.
'We are consulting with MUST as part of that review.'
