Fritz Walter

As an early legend of German football, Fritz Walter made 61 caps and scored 33 goals, and was captain of the team that won the first FIFA World Cup for Germany in 1954.

Gerd Müller

Regarded as one of the greatest goalscorers of all time, Gerd Müller scored 68 goals in 62 appearances for Germany including ten goals at the 1970 FIFA World Cup.

Franz Beckenbauer

Widely regarded to be one of the greatest players in the history of football, Beckenbauer appeared 103 times for West Germany and played in three FIFA World Cups.

Lothar Matthäus

Matthäus is the most capped German player of all time, retiring with a total of 150 appearances (83 for West Germany) in 20 years. He has played in five FIFA World Cups (1982, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998) and captained West Germany to victory in 1990.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Rummenigge scored 45 goals in his 95 caps for West Germany in addition to winning the 1980 European Championship and being part of the squad that finished runner-up in the World Cup 1982 and 1986.
