Following Cristiano Piccini’s injury, Valencia have reportedly asked Napoli for Elseid Hysaj on loan with option to buy.
Italy international Piccini suffered a fractured kneecap in training this morning and is expected to be out of action for five months.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Valencia have gone back to Italy for his replacement.
Napoli would be prepared to release Hysaj on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
That option could become an obligation if he put together a certain number of appearances and the club achieved specific targets.
Hysaj is surplus to requirements at Napoli this term and had also been linked with Juventus, Inter and Atletico Madrid.
