After being eliminated from the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 by Morocco, Netherlands international Van Dijk was interviewed by Dutch media VP.

On the match
"The match lasted 90 minutes, and we went through many difficult moments and phases. In the first half, we played quite well, better than in the second half. After that, our defensive line dropped further back. Even when we regained possession, we couldn't find the right players. This aspect wasn't ideal."
"I think they created very few chances. I can only recall two set-piece opportunities and one long-range shot. Everyone has the right to criticize themselves. Let the analysts think what they want."
Do you need to blame yourself?
"Are you talking about as a team? We had a list (for the penalty shootout) beforehand, and those players were ready. It's not a matter of one, two, or three individuals, but our collective responsibility."
"Everyone is disappointed. But now this is a shared feeling among all of us; we have to face it together."
On not taking a penalty
"The coach made a list beforehand. We trained extensively for it, and the order was determined in advance."
On Koeman's future
"I don't know. It's not wise to talk about it now. It has nothing to do with me. I won't discuss it."
On ending the FIFA World Cup
"I can't wait to see my family. For me personally, it's been a very difficult year. Everything I've been through needs to find its place. It will be difficult."
