Virgil van Dijk has explained his world-class defending which stopped Moussa Sissoko from scoring Tottenham winner in Liverpool's 2-1 victory.

Van Dijk showed decisive intervention to block Sissoko's pass to Son Heung-min and forced him to rush a shot went over the bar.
The Liverpool defender later explained how he made the right choice in that tough occasion.

"I know Sissoko is right-footed. So when I saw Sissoko running, I thought I'd just let him go to his left foot," said Van Dijk.
"If Son got the opportunity, I think he would score. Obviously, it's still difficult to beat Allison anyway.
"That was the only thoughts I had at that time."
Van Dijk received huge amounts of praise after the defending as he stopped Tottenham from scoring a winner before Liverpool won it late.
