Virgil Van Dijk is reportedly facing a battle to be fit for Liverpool's Premier League clash against Leicester on Wednesday night.
The Dutch defender has featured in all 23 of the Reds' league games so far this season.
However, van Dijk hasn't returned to full training after picking up an illness during a training camp in Dubai, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
Van Dijk will be given every chance to prove his fitness prior to the game at home to the Foxes, with Liverpool eager to have him available as they look to push ahead with their title charge.
Liverpool are currently four points clear at the top of the Premier League, with Manchester City, their closest challengers, in action on Tuesday night when they face Newcastle away.
Van Dijk has been hugely impressive for Liverpool this season, with the 27-year-old an important part of why Jurgen Klopp's team are top of the table.
If van Dijk is unavailable then Dejan Lovren, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, is likely to start alongside Joel Matip at the heart of the defence.
Liverpool take on a Leicester team that have lost their last two Premier League games.
